Football Development Centre
Personal Best Education Football Centre aims to support and engage the local community through football. In partnership with 3 local clubs, PBEd FC have developed pathways for players wishing to join a club at their level of ability.
The Centre’s aim is to provide targeted professional coaching to develop players’ abilities from Romsey and surrounding areas from the ages of 6 to 14.
We run our football development sessions from The Mountbatten school, where we have an all-weather pitch, fitness suite, indoor 5-a-side gym, sports hall and grass pitches.
The football centre provides an enjoyable, disciplined and exciting environment, while helping to develop players social skills. The structured sessions help players improve both their physical strength, mental fitness and technical & tactical ability. Participants must have the desire to improve, whilst demonstrating dedication and enthusiasm for the game.
Our Monday sessions focus on small-sided games, as we believe this is a great way for players to learn how to play the game in an opposed environment, similar to match days. This type of learning will allow for greater decision making and enable us to challenge the players as a group and individually.
The Wednesday nights will be varied each week with sessions taking place in the sports hall, fitness suite and classroom with specialist coaches and tutors. They will range from indoor football/futsal where games will be challenging and coached at a high intensity.
Fitness sessions where we will cover cardio, strength and conditioning work and in the classroom players will learn about diet, nutrition and also look at psychology in football based around their age groups. Players will be grouped based on age and ability to ensure that everyone receives the best support and advice to progress to the next level. All our coaches are football qualified, have been DBS checked, attended a child protection course and hold a first aid certificate.
